The congress on ''Current Developments in Turkish Foreign Policy" was held by Atatürk University International Relations Department on April 28, 2014.
During the meeting, Begüm Zorlu, research assistant at POMEAS, made a presentation entitled "Turkey's Role as a Mediator in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict."
After introducing the historical background of Turkey's foreign policy perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Zorlu focused on the strengths and the weaknesses that Turkey posed as a third party to the conflict emphasising the developments after the Oslo Peace Process. She underpinned that the concept of third party revealed Turkey's political and economic capacity and discussed the changes in Turkish foreign policy since 2002. The presentation was followed by questions from the floor.
